Huw Kingston

 

Huw Kingston is an adventurer, environmentalist, writer and more. He has spent over 30 years undertaking long human-powered journeys in wild places across the world. His latest work, Mediterranean was published in 2017. It concerns his year-long circumnavigation of the Mediterranean Sea when he kayaked, walked, cycled and rowed a boat. He began and ended the journey in Gallipoli, making his journey a commemoration of the Anzac Centenary. He has numerous awards to his name including the Australian Geographic Spirit of Adventure Award and was named one of Time Magazine’s 25 Worldwide Responsibility Pioneers. Huw is also an ambassador for Save the Children Australia and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.

Born in the UK in 1963, Huw lives with his wife Wendy in the Southern Highlands of NSW. He has two stepdaughters and five grandchildren.
