Lynnette Lounsbury


Lynnette Lounsbury is a writer, lecturer, martial artist, traveller and occasional poet. She grew up in Papua New Guinea and on the NSW North Coast and now lives in Sydney. Lynnette currently teaches writing and ancient history at Avondale College and is senior editor of the student travel blog, Ytravel. Her first book, the young adult novel, Afterworld (Allen & Unwin 2014) was published in 2014.

We Ate the Road like Vultures is her first novel for adults. Nick Earls describes the work as “A wild feat of imagination, intellect and writing craft”.

Lynette says: “I hope that if I’ve learned anything from the words of others, it’s that my words are my own – there is no genre, no style, no story that is closed to me”.
