Tony Doherty is a priest in the Catholic Church. He and Ailsa Piper formed a friendship which arose initially from a letter he wrote to her after reading her book, Sinning Across Spain. Tony’s lifetime search has been to find an appropriate language of faith for contemporary adults. He also admits to being a little addicted to walking pilgrimages.
Tony and Ailsa’s friendship is charted in their book, The Attachment: Letters from a most Unlikely Friendship. They will talk at the Festival about their journeys towards its publication, and about their love of letters, conversation, and the common grounds they have located.
